Anytime they cut through our skin, they cut through nerves, so it will feel weird. I used Tylenol and ice packs for a few days to help. Mine was pretty sore, I had low platelets, so had to have platelet infusions in order to qualify for the procedure, then they accessed it the next morning for chemo. To place the port, they have to place something in your chest- that our body was not reserving a space for- it takes a while to get comfortable with it. And then sometimes, the area would get achy- especially if I had been lifting or twisting, etc. Hang in there, it does get better. Hugs!

Hi Stacie😊 I don't remember experiencing any weakness. But everybody is different. I would suggest you just call your Dr to be safe. I'm sure they told you not to lift anything more than 5 lbs. Be careful with lifting.
Praying all works out well for you! ❤️

Stacie, the nerve issue you mention makes alot of sense. We know our bodies and these days we need to be so much more in tune with them.
Hopefully, they will find that answer quickly. 🙏
Please keep us posted.
Have a beautiful Sunday! 💖🌹

Think I read a post - the tube that connects from the port was put under the clavicle and when it was removed, it touched a nerve.. my tube is over the clavicle.. why don’t you contact the surgeon who did the port placement and ask?
So sorry you’re going through this.. and I hear you..
I was told this port placement was a “procedure” so I did not expect this to be another surgery (as if we don’t have enough to deal with..) At the time I got it, I was recovering from double mastectomy with reconstruction. It was a 9 hour surgery with 6 weeks of recovery and thought I was done and over with! But then to find out few days before that I needed to go back to OR got me so annoyed and frustrated that I wasn’t told - the pain management was worse than my reconstruction! 😡
I hope you get some answers and feel better soon🙏❤️
