Reclast (zoledronic acid) is used as a bone-strengthening drug in cases like osteoporosis or to manage pain from bone metastases in breast cancer patients. It is administered intravenously, typically every three to four weeks or every three months. Transitioning from Prolia (denosumab) to Reclast is something your doctor might recommend based on your specific health needs, especially if you are also taking Exemestane for breast cancer treatment.

It's important to discuss with your doctor any necessary dental work before starting Reclast due to the rare but serious side effect of osteonecrosis of the jaw. This condition involves the death of jawbone tissue, and its risk can be mitigated by handling dental issues prior to treatment.

Always consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice and to discuss the potential benefits and risks of switching to Reclast in your treatment plan.
