I felt like after all that, I've been thru enough. Im 58 yrs old and I'm ok with it. I just call them mutt and jeff, one is misshaped and one is not. Its all your decision, just get all the info before you make a decision. Praying for you.😇

Reconstructive surgery after a mastectomy or lumpectomy has several pros and cons:
### Pros:
- Restores Appearance: Helps restore the appearance and feel of breasts, improving body image and self-esteem.
- Symmetry and Balance: Aims to regain symmetry and balance between breasts.
- Immediate Reconstruction: Can be done immediately after mastectomy, avoiding extra surgery and additional scars.
- Improved Confidence: Many women report feeling more confident and comfortable with their bodies post-reconstruction.
### Cons:
- Risk of Infection: Up to 35% of reconstructions may experience infection, especially if the patient smokes or is overweight.
- Additional Surgeries: May require multiple surgeries and a longer recovery period.
- Potential Complications: Risks include blood clots, blood loss, infection, breathing problems, and reactions to medication.
- Delayed Healing: If radiation therapy is needed post-mastectomy, it can delay healing and cause additional scarring.
- Unmet Expectations: The reconstructed breast may not look or feel exactly as expected, and the skin and nipple may not regain full sensitivity.
### Thoughts on Deformation and Asymmetry:
- Consultation: It's important to consult with a surgeon to discuss your specific case, the benefits, and risks of reconstruction, and to develop a personalized plan.
- Options: Consider both immediate and delayed reconstruction options, as well as the use of prosthetics if surgery isn't preferred.
- Personal Preferences: Your personal preferences, the type of breast cancer, and follow-up treatments will influence the best approach for you.
