How Soon After My Lumpectomy Should I Expect To Start Taking Arimidex?

I started trying hormone therapy before radiation and about 4 weeks after surgery. I wasn't sure about radiation so I started hormone therapy right away. So about about 3 to 4 weeks of that, before I determined I couldn't take any of them due to side effects aggravate already chronic pain. I did ask why it was 8 weeks after surgery, for a timeline to have radiation. After asking the question 3 different ways, answer was "that's what the studies show". Great answer, really clears it up.

I had surgery - wait 3 months for healing - radiation that covered about 8 weeks - wait 2 months due to scheduling issues - started Arimidex.

If no chemo or radiation then as soon as you meet with Oncologist he or she will start you.
