I Am In Mo.5 Of Treatment For Her2-pos. I'm Searching For People In My Condition
I'd like to know if anyone is having such a hard time with it as I.
Sleeping too much, appetite, fatigue. Not much pain but that changes tomorrow with 6th treatment
Still waiting for eyelashes- if I use mascara, it looks like a few spider legs! I considered the false ones, but I am allergic to a lot of adhesives, so don't need that. And they make magnetic ones- you use a special eyeliner with some fine metal in it, and the lashes are drawn to that. But, I am also allergic to metals- so I just draw in my eyeliner and roll on! I tell my husband at least he doesn't have to worry about me batting my eyelashes at anyone- lol!!
Before cancer (and chemo) I had super straight long hair. Now it’s growing back wavy/curly and standing up straight at that😊
I read the curliness is because the hair follicles get damaged by chemo and become twisted, so that’s why hair comes out twisted. In people with natural curls, that’s already the case. But when you have super straight like I had, you get curls. I don’t mind in a way - gives me more volume with age. But it’s not as pretty as what I had…
So glad it is going well, and you only have one more to go!! Whoop! Whoop!! When I moved to the Herceptin only, it was so much easier! Every three months there is still a check for heart function changes- but you already know that is quick and easy!
I had let my hair go natural gray before the diagnosis, and of course it came back the same way. A lot of people with straight hair get "chemo curls" when it comes back in. My hair was always "curvy"- (curly or wavy, depending on the length/weight)- and that came back the same- just thinner. My eyebrows and eyelashes are pretty thin too. On the other hand, I don't have to shave everywhere else as often! Gotta look for that silver lining!! Hugs!
My worst time was chemo treatments 9-12. Nausea, diarrhea and tiredness. By the end of my chemo I lost over 30 pounds. You don't put any weight on eatting chicken noodle soup, which is about all I could eat. My nausea medication, Ondansetron, worked pretty well.
don't mind thinner, I had heavy curly, wont listen, humidity magnet hair. and natural gray is so beautiful. I wouldn't mind white to tell the truth. also asked if you remember how long the eyelashes took to come back.
didn't really have many brows and lashes anyway. lol Hugs to you and thanks so much for your conversation and help
