Itching after breast surgery can persist for years. One MyBCTeam member shared their experience of having itching on and off almost four years post bilateral surgery. This itching can be due to the healing process, where histamines released by the immune system interact with nerve endings, or due to the formation of scar tissue and nerve regeneration. If you are experiencing persistent itching, it is advisable to discuss it with your healthcare provider.

Yes, Beth. I had that problem for almost 2 years. Dr said I had alot of scar tissue because of 2 lumpectomy surgeries. It took a long time for all that to get better.

Hi Beth, I've experienced itching as well. It's not as bad as it once was. I hope you experience relief sooner than later. ❤
