Recently I Have Noticed My Scalp Is Now Showing Signs Of Dryness... What Can I Do For The Flakes?
2019 diagnosed MBC, 2022 remission, end of 2023 reoccurrence, new chemotherapy medication than last time, now on Enhurtu. I do have peeling, dry and itchy skin specially hands and feet but have been dealing with it. The dryness of the scalp is new
I get it Kiki... I had Taxol, Herceptin, radiation and am now 4 yrs on AIs. All of which exacerbated the Sjogrens. In fact, my opthalmologist says the Sjogrens is advancing. The relief I got from Aquaphor and Nizoral products was almost immediate. My scalp no longer is itchy or flaky with the Nizoral which I use 2x/week. The Aquaphor has relieved gyno issues - everyone needs a gyno who says, "your lips are chapped and I don't mean the ones on your face." ☺ She, too is battling the Cancer demon and her advice helped tremendously. On a whim I started using the Aquaphor on my chin which, since the AIs, had developed deep wrinkles. I realized just yesterday that the wrinkles are less noticeable and in fact some are gone. Yay! It also helps on fingernail and toenail cuticles. I do have chemo nail damage to some fingernails - some splitting, and odd layering and really dry cuticles. So an application of Aquaphor twice a day helps that, as well. I was so relieved when gyno suggested this because at long last no meds to fix side effects from other meds and a jar lasts for months! Good luck!
I have Sjogrens Syndrome. I tried everything for flakiness for years. Dermatologist reccommended shampoos didn't work. One Dermo told me , it is not that bad. Just ignore it." I didn't go back to him! I now use Nizoral shampoo and conditioner. Flaking gone! Also use greasy kind of Aquaphor on hands and chin and below waist area as well. Gyno recommended it after appointment this year and it is amazing how it soothes and protects. Between chemo and Aromatase Inhibitor and Sjogrens, was feeling like a dried up old prune. Now am much more comfortable.
You are welcomee. I will hold a good thought. Do let me know how it works for you. Here's a big hug of good vibes...
Hope it helps ... some women have used Aquaphor on breast after radiation. I had a different Rx cream prescribed by Radiation Onco. Just remember Kiki, you only need a small amount of it to do the trick. And be sure it is the greasy kind, not the lotion. I use this for every thing these days. Good luck!

My first time around I was on perjeda, herceptin and taxol. And then on kycerda. And for the spine tumor had radiation. I will be investing in some aquaphor soon, like tomorrow. Thank you
