Hi @A MyBCTeam Member☺️
No, you're not scaring me. I really appreciate your input. I like to be well-informed just in case. And nobody knows better than the people that have been through it.
I have an implant and never had a tissue expander, but I did have 28 rounds of daily radiation which ended in July. Not sure if radiation affected implant but it's about 3 months since last rad treatment. I have a question for you...did they say that it was the Kadcyla treatments that affected your breast? How many Kadcyla treatments did they give you?
My breast actually feels a little bit better but I still feel icky like flu but no fever. Thank God!
I have an appt tomorrow with both my breast surgeon and plastic surgeon. I'm praying it's an easy fix. But, if the problem is the implant, I believe I will decide to go flat depending on what they say. I certainly don't want to keep going through this. One surgery is ENOUGH!!
And no time is good, but this timing is really bad as we are under contract selling our house in NC to move back to FL to be with our kids and grandkids.
I am trusting God with all of this as HE certainly knows it all🙏🙏🙏
Thank you again for responding. I really appreciate your input.
Praying for you for all of God's blessings, complete wholeness in body, soul and spirit. AMEN!🥰
Hi Donna 386!
I’m sorry I don’t want to scare you but please report to your doctor right away.
I did have pain towards the last Kadcyla infusion. I noticed my skin over the tissue expander was hot to touch, red then it turned black. I had my tissue extracted removed and was in the hospital for IV antibiotics.
After that I decided to not have the reconstruction. I am now flat and no infection nor problem.
This is my personal decision. BEING FLAT DOES NOT BOTHER ME and easier to live with. NO MORE PAIN AND INFECTION TO DEAL WITH. I now focus on getting better and live my “NEW LIFE “ which is not really bad and easier than constantly worrying about any complications from the reconstruction.
Sending hugs and prayers.
