How Do They Take The Drains Out? And Do It Hurt?
Yes, I did the same, took some OTC pain meds, just in case, but everything was good, just felt weird- but so good to know I would not have to deal with them anymore. And the shower you get to take once you get back home- one of the best you'll ever have!! I had warned the hubs- not to use any hot water- I was planning on draining the tank!! Don't know if I did, but it felt so good to finally feel squeaky clean all over!! Hugs!
Agree with everything that's been said. The anticipation of it was worse than the event. My first surgery was just before Covid shut everything down, so my nurse neighbor took them out one time, my last two surgeries my husband actually took them out. It's a cake walk compared to surgery lol. Good luck.
I took a pain pill before we left for the doctors office. I don't think I needed it but I felt nothing. Clips the two stitches, tells you to take a deep breath and then breath out slowly. Drain was out before I finished breathing out. Plastic Surgeon took it out on Day 12. Day 13? I sung at karaoke. How are YOU doing?
They take them out slowly, I had no pain just a weird feeling as they came out. After it feels great! Just having them out makes you feel good.
I just had mine out on Monday. A little burning sensation for a few seconds. But once they are out the discomfort is gone!
