Has Anyone Who Is Or Has Taken The Anastrozole And Had PTSD & Anxiety Before Diagnosis?
Has it increased your anxiety?
Hello Reva2. I'm still on Anastrozole. I don't have PTSD, anxiety none before or now. Morning exercise such as my morning walk and meditation helps me a lot. I have been sleeping well lately too. I thank God daily.
Anastrozole, a type of aromatase inhibitor, can cause mood changes, including anxiety. If you have a history of PTSD and anxiety, it's possible that anastrozole could exacerbate these conditions. It's important to discuss any changes in your mental health with your doctor to manage these side effects effectively. For more Show Full Answer
@A MyBCTeam Member which dr adjusted your psychiatrist? I am on Effexor 300 mg Buspar 15 mg a day and trazodone at night. I have hard time at Christmas time for some reason. So, I'm not sure what they could do. I've been on medication for almost 24 years. Started after my last child's birth with post partem. I just don't want to get too depressed. Scares me.
I have bipolar disorder, anxiety and PTSD. With the double mastectomy it only adds to trauma. Iām already on medication for my mental health. The Anastrozole has added to my anxiety but my psychiatrist adjusted medication and my mental state is pretty good. Some days are just going to be bad. Cymbalta is one of the medications I take. Talk with your doctor about the severity.
@A MyBCTeam Member. I'm not on anastrozole but do take Letrozole. It is very common for these anti estrogen drugs to cause all kinds of mood issues. Sometimes they resolve as treatment continues and sometimes intervention is needed. I would say talk to your doctor about it as well. Perhaps they can prescribe something to help.
