If you still have drains, it is still early. And, when those drains come out, ah, wonderful!
Ask your plastic surgeon to refer you to an OT/PT that specializes in lymphedema and breast cancer patients, when they feel it is time. Mine helped a lot with post op pain and scar massage.
Wishing you well!

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling this way. It's not uncommon to experience discomfort and frustration after reconstructive surgery. Here are some points from my knowledge base that might help:

- Sensation: Some women describe a lingering or permanent sensation of tightness in the chest after reconstruction.
- Drains: Drains can be uncomfortable but are necessary to prevent fluid buildup.
- Healing: Swelling and inflammation are common and usually peak within the first few weeks, gradually subsiding over about eight weeks.
- Infection: Monitor for signs of infection like swelling, redness, pain, or heat, and contact your doctor if you suspect any issues.

If you continue to feel discomfort, it might be helpful to discuss your symptoms with your healthcare provider.
