With Expanders Are Permanent Sutures Used To Attach Them To The Muscle?

I'm very thin with very little body fat and hard plastic sutures hurt and never stop hurting so I'm wondering what is generally used before my appointment with my surgeons.

Yes, mine had six tabs that were sutured. This was done so the expander doesn’t move. I’m very thin. It was definitely uncomfortable and was visible under my skin in multiple places. I would ice it for 5 minutes on days that get on my nerves. Even though it was uncomfortable, I did everything I did prior to my bilateral mastectomy. I had my switch a few days ago!
