It can affect kidney function! I once sat with two ladies and one who had had radiation had her kidneys pretty much destroyed. Be very careful about this. Doctors may not tell you about this

Just thinking and wondering if there is any treatment that doesn't affect women in such a negative way. It really pisses me off that women have to basically trade fighting Breast cancer for organ damage. How is this happening in 2024? Sometimes I think there really hasn't been much advancement in the treatment for Breast cancer. The only thing different is there are now about 2 dozen drugs to treat Breast cancer of various types and stages but everything else pretty much is the same as 50 years ago.

I am so happy for this question because I also have CKD and they're constantly checking my blood for my levels but I don't know what any of that means nobody ever explains anything to me so I don't know what all it means but I'm I'm in stage four CKD and I'm in metastatic breast cancer. And yesterday I started the first of 10 radiation treatments to my left femur which is right there by the kidneys so I am just going to continue to put these things in God's hands as I don't know how to handle any of it.

I never had radiation Maureen but I think it can only affect upper body organs with heart and lungs being the main organs. I could be wrong but thats my guess. ❤️
