@Christlstenes I was also started on 8 pills a day, 4,000mgs. My side-effects started into my 3rd cycle. My hands and feet were so blistered that I couldn't hardly walk or use my hands. I was using the lotions they gave me too! I also became really dehydrated even though I drank fluids like an elephant! Also got a bacterial infection in my lymphadema arm from my hands being raw. I was suffering chronic diarrhea and lost weight because I couldn't get nutrition from the little food I was eating and couldn't keep in my system. I had to get 3bags of IV fluids in a weeks time plus IV antibiotics for my cellulitis in my arm .I almost became septic very quickly. My oncologist had to lower my dosage by half, 2000mg a day, 4 pills a day. It made all the difference! I can tolerate this at this level. Now on my 5th cycle and doing So much better! Tell your oncologist what's going on! They can adjust the dosage. Don't wait until your symptoms get severe. Best of luck! Praying for you!🙂🙏🏻👍❤️🤗

I asked my oncologist that question last week. She said for as long as it keeps working. There's no cure for my stage4 Metastatic breast cancer. When it stops working we will move on to another drug that will work. My cancer will eventually win and take my life. But I'm alive Now and I'm thriving each day, grateful to be alive. I've always said," there's No expiration date stamped anywhere on my body!" God has the final say.

Blisters on hands and feet, known as hand-foot syndrome, is a common side effect of Xeloda (capecitabine). Reducing the dosage to 6 pills/day may help lessen the severity of this side effect. It's important to inform your healthcare provider about any worsening symptoms. You can also try moisturizing creams, avoiding heat or friction on hands and feet, and wearing loose, comfortable shoes.
