Has Anyone Skipped Radiation And Hormone Therapy After Lumpectomy? I'm 55 And Had Stage 1 Invasive Tubular Carcinoma.
They want me to do radiation for 3-4 weeks and take Anastrozole.
Nope. I do everything they throw my way. I don’t want to look back and say, I should have tried that. There’s only been one medication that my oncologist and I decided together was doing more harm than good (verzenio)
Maybe ask your doctor what the risk of recurrence is with and without radiation, and with and without the hormone blocker. If you can accept those odds, and be ok with recurrence, maybe that is your answer.
As with Joyce, I did radiation but had to stop tamoxifen after 15 months due to extreme mood swings.
I did radiation and tried to do hormone therapy but nasty side effects on Tamoxifen made that impossible.
The hormone therapy has few side effects and a lot of prevention potential. Nature is not on your side so give yourself some protection. That cancer REALLY WANTS to GROW! Remember that. God is not going to protect you from this
