Im About To Start 4 Rounds Of Taxol Not Liking What Im Reading From Others Who Are Currently On It Or Who Was On It, Is It Really That Bad?
The more I hear about the drug the worst I feel about getting it...I did good with my first part of chemo but now I'm about to start my last stage of chemo which consist of 4 rounds of Taxol...I read some disturbing side affects...is it really that bad what are some of the top worst side effects ?
I "liked" Taxol better than my first set of chemo drugs. No nausea at all. I had fatigue, weight gain (steroids), neuropathy in my fingers, depression, and a little diarrhea. All in all it was much easier on me and I had 12 treatments. Needless to say I was VERY happy to finish with Taxol and had no more chemo! Great day. Hope things work out the best for you
Taxol is a piece of cake compared to AC. Neuropathy can be treated with yoga stretches- those helped me more than medication. Good luck.
I had 12 rounds of Taxol and it wasn't bad at all. I took kids to Sea World and to Disneyland! I did have little bit of tingling sensation on my leg which I still do, but it wasn't that bad. Good luck!
I had some neuropathy in my hands and feet, not too bad. The worst part was a fever that lasted for almost a month, on and off. My oncologist insisted thar this was not related to the taxol, but they could find no other reason for it.
I agree with MarnieFr, I did not have any nausea, but did gain a lot of weight due to the steroids, neuropathy in my hands and feet. I would get my dose on Thursdays and be up literaly all night and go to work the next day and that night I would be in bed by 5 or 6! My house has never been as clean! It came in handy for Thanksgiving that year, I got my dose on Wed and cooked all night!
