I just stopped taking tamoxifen after four years, my hip pain has gone and my sex drive is coming back. I spotted for a few days but don't know what is in store for me. What is going on with you? Are you taking tamoxifen? When I was on it I didn't get a period.

@A MyBCTeam Member, how long have you been on Tamoxifen/off chemotherapy (or did you do chemotherapy?). I was 23 when diagnosed, now 24. When I finished chemotherapy in February 2013, my period came back in April 2013 and has been regular ever since. However, I am not sure how old you are but I know that the older you are the more likely it is that you could go into menopause. For my age group, studies have shown it is less than 1% of women who go into menopause afterwards. It all depends.

I took tamoxifen from the age of 42 to 47. My cycle was light while I was taking the medication. When I stopped at 5 years, as instructed, the hormones came raging back and my periods got heavier and more regular. Effexior greatly helped. Periods stopped at 52 and hot flashes ever since. I am now 58. I feel your pain. It's truly a struggle.

I am almost from 4 months of finishing Tamox and body is more normal now. We shall see.

My period stoped durong chimo and they haven't come back yet. I'm on Tamoxifen since August and no doctor can tell me if it's just the meds or if it's real menopause... I'm 44, little young for menopause...
