Anyone Know If Dose Dense Taxol Treatment Every Other Week Has Harsh Side Effect As Opposed To Taxol Treatment Every Week?

Just wondering if there is a big difference in side effects is Taxol treatment is dose dense given every other week for 8 weeks instead of given every week for 12 weeks?

Dose dense Taxol every week is rough. My nails have detached, I had a stuffy nose with nose bleed and still have it occasionally a month after my last chemo treatment. No hair but some peach fuzz has started to show up. My mouth was so sore during chemo that twice my oncologist had to give me a weeks break to let my mouth heal. Even now, a month after chemo, my mouth is touchy.

I am on weekly Taxol regiment (28 day cycle - 1x/week for 3 weeks; 1 week off). On my second round (total will hopefully be 6) and only side effects have been hair loss (no effect on eyebrows or lashes), loose stool for a couple of days and some fatigue. The side effects from the dexamethasone give by IV prior to Taxol is some insomnia and a bit of bloating (this goes away on my week off chemo). I am able to work part-time as well. I chose weekly over every 3 weeks as it is less toxic but just as effective.
