Fever And Infection After Treatment
Has anyone else had to deal with fever and infections after having chemo?
no infections, but I had low white blood cells so they gave me shots of nupogen. My side effects of chemo were neuropathy of hands and feet, they peeled, got beat red and I could hardly walk, so he lowered the dose of taxotere. Everything tasted like wax. I lost 50 lbs but still not thin. Just right. I would get hot and then freezing cold but never ran a temperature. I sometimes wear 2 stocking caps and a hoody to keep warm at night. I seldom wear my wigs because they itch after a while.
many times. just be very careful, stay away from crowds and sickies.
Yes. I had one neutropenic event resulting in a 4 day hospital stay early in my chemo treatment. None since. Keep an eye on signs and symptoms of infection and report to Doc if temp is above 100.3 or whatever you were instructed to report. Your immune system is working overtime to protect you, but it is still compromised.
Yes, 15 years ago and also last spring with my recurrence. I believe this is a common side effect. Always remember to take care of yourself and listen to your body. If you feel sick, you are sick, especially with chemo. When i have a side effect, I always listen to my body climb into bed or under a blanket somewhere and wait for it to pass. But always call your dr with any side effects. Good luck and hugs! Lynn
Yes I had fever, chills and bone pain after my first chemo.
