Yeast Infections?
Anyone have dryness or yeast infection after cycle stops or after chemo? I do but haven't had any history of them til my cycle stopped. What a pain!
Yes.
During "chemopause" (when chemo causes you to go into temporary menopause), I had yeast infections, a bacterial infection (which was the WORST) and alot of vaginal dryness.
Consider using a long acting vaginal lubricant like RePlens. It helped me a ton with the general discomfort that comes with constant vaginal dryness. You use it once every 2-3 days and it helped me significantly.
And like the ladies said, be sure to eat yogurt or take daily probiotics to help avoid yeast infections. And if you have something that FEELS like a yeast infection but doesn't go away, see your GYN as it could be a bacterial infection.
Generally speaking, my parts down there were super uncomfortable during treatment and for the year after while I was on Herceptin. Most docs don't discuss that or seem to be aware of it, so don't be surprised if your oncologist doesn't have much advice.
Good luck!
Yes! So annoying. Chronic yeast infections. I feel like I'm on Monistat every other week.
My doc prescribed Estrace cream and it has helped a great deal with the dryness.
yes, the yeast infection
Yes to both. The dryness is the worst.
