I Had My DIEP Nov'12 And Finished Up Tweak Surgeries Over 18 Mos (+ A Hysterectomy). I Get Severe Stomach & Back Spasms. Anyone Else?
OK I'm reaching out to all the DIEP flap ladies.
I had my DIEP done in Nov 2012. Then continued to have little tweak surgeries and a robotic hysterectomy over the past 18 months. My final surgery was in May. Since then I get these really weird stomach spasms (honestly - it feels like a baby kicking) and last week I hurt my back doing something stupid at work and now my back is killing me and I'm walking like I did right after surgery - all hunched over. I had the DIEP Surgery over a year ago Hi, I had the DIEP flap surgery over a year ago and lately have been having stomach spasms when I lie down and while taking a bath and every now again just out of no where. I have to be still and let the pain pass.
I am assuming nothing can be done about it.
Hi I just had my Diep surgery Oct 2016. I first described as pulsating and just like you.....it feels like a baby kicking. I contacted my Ps and nurse responded as long as there are no visible changes this is normal and can last months to years. Did anything help? It doesn't hurt, but feels scary.
Sorry to hear you had a recurrence @A MyBCTeam Member My spasms are much better and less frequent and my back pain is gone :-)
hi @A MyBCTeam Member. i haven't been on the site for a while. i had a lumpectomy last year but with recurrence looks like now i may have DIEP flap. how are your muscle spasms and back pain? i see you posted this a while ago, are you feeling better?
I agree Physical therapy to strengthen core and back muscles would likely benefit.
