Yep, had 2 d&cs and 1 hysteroscopy when I was on tamoxifen (for the full 5 yrs). It all came back non-cancerous.

I have had a couple of uterine biopsies due to a thickened uterine lining, which was due to tamoxifen use. Luckily, they came back fine. I have since had my ovaries removed and was switched to Arimidex which doesn't carry the cancer risk that tamoxifen does.

@A MyBCTeam Member, I had a polyp removed during my first d&c too. The doctor had already gotten a good sample of it on the hysteroscopy he did on me and he did not even tell me it was there! But, after the hysteroscopy was over and my bleeding stopped, of course, it started up again!! So, then I had to do the big gonzo's causing the d&c which he kept telling me would 99.9% be o.k. And, it was. Praying yours will be too. And, just wanted you to know that polyps are a common and normal part of taking tamoxifen. They mostly come back negative for cancer. The other thing is that it is normal to accumulate a uterine lining while on the drug. According to my ob, this will either get shed during periods or reabsorbed back into the body upon completion of tamoxifen. Since being off tamoxifen my uterine lining did shrink down (some periods and some shrinkage due to menopause) so don't lose hope lady while tamoxifen drives your uterus crazy!!

I am also having a D&C because my uterus lining is slightly thickened after being on tamoxifen for almost 1 year. Dr tries to do a biopsy, but couldn't do it. I also want to have a hysterectomy, but my Dr will not do it now. she said it's overkill. My D&C is going to be done on 11/17. My DR doesn't think it's cancer, but she said we will not know for sure until after D&C and we get results of biopsies.
