D3 Intake
My oncologist has me taking D3 supplements. The one I've been taking daily is for 1,000 iu. My gynecologist now wants me to take Citracal based on my bone density results. Citracal includes D3. 500 per serving and you take it twice a day. So it's the same as the supplement I was taking. For those who seem to have trouble getting their low D3 levels back to the normal, or better yet, optimum levels take some Vitamin K supplement. You won't find it at a Walmart or usual drug stores. Drug Emporium carries it. My D3 level had gotten as low as 5. Only when I added the vitamin K did my D3 level shoot up to
90.12 in a two months time. And this is with my being
four years in remission.
I take 10,000 iu of D3 supplement due to low D3 level. I was already taking multivitamins and bone builders with over 2000 iu of D when diagnosed as low, but it must not have been enough for my body. Now with the boost of D, I have more energy and my joints don't hurt as much (on arimidex and year after chemo and radiation). I had to go online to get 10,000 D3 vitamins or you have to get by RX.
I also take P5P daily. I tablet. Its a B complex pill. It helps to prevent cancer recurrence.
I take citracal with d3 as well as 2000 iu of d3 daily. If I remember correctly, the calcium helps with d3 absorption.
I also take D3 2000 units daily as well as calcium that has vitamin D also. Almost none of us get enough vitamin D, especially if you live in northern states.
