Radiation Therapy
I just finished radiation after having a lumpectomy. I am experiencing brain fog, but I thought this "chemo brain" was only a side effect of chemotherapy. Has anyone else experienced this after having radiation therapy?
I finished my 35 radiation treatments on 10/23/15. I had "radiation brain" during treatment and still have it now. I'm happy to know I'm not the only one.
Wow! I just finished a week of radiation have brain fog! Thanks for posting! I now know other people have experienced this!
Oh yeah. I used to think chemo brain was a fluke until I was introduced to chemo and radiation. It's real!
Oh yes , I had it through chemo and radiation. I finished radiation in July and it is just now getting somewhat better. I use to stress out about it but I have learned to slow down, make list, and plan my day accordingly . Take it day by day.
My Onc said I could experience brain/chemo fog for several years after completion of treatment. Some days I can be in the middle of a conversation and my mind will literally go blank. I'm fortunate at work where my team knows this and are very supportive and helpful. I try to 'exercise' my brain as much as possible. Lots of word puzzles, seek and find picture puzzles, quizes, coloring (yes, it is theraputic and relaxing) and seeing. Good luck and blessings to you.
