Has Anyone Else Had Elevated Liver Enzymes?
My Oncologist has ordered a CT scan. I on my repeat test done a few days ago my liver enzymes were still elevated, along with a sugar level of 191. which was a total shock as I am not a diabetic . my last sugar level was normal. I have lost 20 pds. Yes I am trying to lose weight. I am scared silly. Tomorrow is my yearly mammogram. and Monday is the CT scan.Has anyone else gone thru this????
R/t elevated liver enzymes and fatty liver disease my diagnosis; I stopped the tamoxifen immediately; refused to take armidex; and Live a very clean life (No Sugar; No Carbs; No Alcohol). I did gain 40 pounds because of the cancer treatment and I'm down 28 pounds with 12 left to go after I stopped Herceptin. I am a trauma nurse 29 years now and work with all top cancer surgeons in Chicago; I told them about my diagnosis and my Clean Living and Weight Loss and they told me THAT WAS THE BEST THING YOU COULD DO FOR YOUR LIVER! Peace Out Hope this HELPS!
well I have been informed that I have the beginning of a fatty liver. I am seeing my Dr on the 4th to discuss the results.
I agree, no sugar, no carbs seems to be the only way to keep sugar levels down after chemo treatment, it does hammer the liver. I'm about to do my liver enzymes and glucose levels, it's a year since I finished chemo and 10 months since radiation.
I have elevated liver enzymes as a side effect of the chemo. Mine are at critical high levels. I am meeting with doctor tomorrow to better understand but likely they will have to delay or maybe lower Taxil dosage - competed 3 of 12.
What have you found out? My internet research doesn't seem to indicate there is much to do other than to stop any medications that maybe causing it.
I actually had a hemangioma that was fueled by estrogen which causes liver enzymes to be high. It was found during my chest/abdomen CT that was ordered by my oncologist. I had a follow-up CT after my total hysterectomy and bilateral oophorectomy and no sign of the hemangioma.
