Ghost Lump!
All right, girls, I'm trying not to freak out on this and just got an appointment with the doc for next week
After BC diagnosis, have you ever felt like there are lumps everywhere? Even after surgery or during chemo or after treatment
I've been squeezing my poor boobs so insistently lately (they are small and dense, so there are ghost lumps and masses everywhere) that I've got them hurt right now.
I've got the feeling I have masses in the operated boob (@lumpectomy), which doc said should be… read more
Power of positive thinking is the best way to survive. I have had six different
surgeries for six different Cancers, I have be on Chemo for the past 12 years and will be on it for the rest of my life. Who cares, I saw my daughter get married to her Prince Charming. I have an
adorable granddaughter. Chemo has saved my life. It is the mind that heals.
Yes, I find different kinds of lumps and bumps 2 1/2 years past lumpectomy. I follow through with doc appts and I once needed a biopsy for a new lump found on the same breast, which was fat necrosis (dead cells that get hard I was told) from the surgery and radiation. I recently had an ultrasound for a lump on my neck, and my US tech was a bc survivor 4 years out. She self discovered her lump in an ultrasound when mammo didnt pick it up. I too self discovered my lump when my mammo just 5 months earlier found nothing!
This tech said to always ask your ONC for an ultrasound post treatments and surgery. Many new/younger oncs do this, but not the old school ones. I am having my first US done since treatment because I found a new bump under my armpit, ONC says its a muscle, I said I would feel better with US since getting this advice from the tech.
SO, keep on feeling those lumps and bumps, we are our first doctor and recurrences can and do happen all the time, but if we find something early stage, we have a better chance to treat the recurrence early.
Subidoo: I know you have the power to get through this challenge. I remember my oncologist once told me that as a servivior, I have earned the right to say
anything I wanted and never to apologize for my opinion. I laughed so hard, it isn’t who I am, I am the same person I have always been only with a chuckle in my heart. You too will service it is mind over matter, and your future matters.
Hello ladies. Happy Hump Day. @A MyBCTeam Member you are absolutely correct that self monitoring is key. I too have had lumps that were missed both by my GYN and a mammogram. We are more in tune with our bodies and can detect differences better than a machine. We should also insist on ultrasounds that are more accurate than mammograms. Here's hoping for a healthy 2018
Before my diagnosis, I had never been professionally examined for cancer except for my biennial smear test. Now I'm prodded and poked whenever they see me. I find that reassuring. They watch you more closely and take you seriously.
Why Is A Hard Lump From A Fall Be A Hematoma That Has Been There For Over 3 Years. I Am A Breast Cancer Survivor.
Radiation Damage Or Recurrance??
Sorry To All Of You I Posted The Wrong Question. The Question Should Of Read Fat Necrosis In The Breast.
