Hello!

After being on Tamoxifen for 2-1/2 years, I have weened myself off. The leg pain, feet and hands seizing up, hot flashes, weight gain were all decding factors in having a better quality of life. My tumor was removed (3 years ago yesterday). Nothing spread to my lymph nodes. Went through chemotherapy and Radiation and was told because of my mammoprint results my risk of reoccurrence was high if I did not have chemotherapy and Tamoxifen treatments.

Did chemo, radiation and 2-1/2 years… read more

I took tamoxifen for 4 years and had to stop it. I was going crazy with all the side effects. 8 months later My cancer came back in my pectoral muscle. Had it removed and had 37 treatments of radiation. That was tough. Then they gave me Fluvestrant shots every month Been on them over a year and stopped them to months ago. My hips hurt and bone pain. I can't stand it any more. Friday I supposed to decide on what pill next. First top three. I have Her 2 + Her 2- had a double mastectomy. Implants were placed in eight months later. When I had the radiation, the implants were destroy and hurt me so bad that I had to remove them. I can't take it any more. I don't know if I want to take anything anymore. My body is a mess. It never ends.

I take B12, Magnesium and D3. I'm doing pretty good. I drink a lot of water too. I guess I'm stuck on this for 5 more Arimidex years. You don't want to be on Femara, that's the devil in one little pill.

I got off Arimidex for 2 weeks. I had ungodly toes and leg cramps. Did not know my toes could bend in that direction. But I had to go back on, I had a recurrence at the biopsy site after 5 years. Go figure.

Hope things get better for you. Maybe it will take a while since it was in your system for that long.

I quit Tamoxifen after less than 18 months because of the side effects. That was more than 3.5 years ago. My side effects went away within a month.
