Maybe BCTeam Should Email And Notify All Members ?

Perhaps MyBCTeam should email a notification to all members that the FDA has announced that ALL breast implants can cause ALCL. This is a global women’s health crisis, Europe has banned and recalled textured breast implants and breast cancer ladies are getting reconstructions. They deserve to know this information that the FDA has sent out to all health care providers. Please make an announcement of this.

My surgeon fully disclosed all the risks and all the options..my appointment was over an hour and that was after a mandatory class that I had to take before seeing surgeon. I didnt realize this wasnt happening across the board. Knowledge is power!

I don't think myBCTeam should be posting "What Causes BC" Articles on their site that say Breast Implants don't cause Cancer when they clearly do. These should be taken off the site immediately to save lives.

The new report comes one day before French regulatory authorities are scheduled to meet to discuss the safety of textured implants, which are used in cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries and account for 85 percent of the French market. The majority of ALCL cases have been linked to the textured devices. In December, France’s National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM) asked Allergan to recall its textured implants after the agency pulled its safety approval.

That recall followed an NBC News investigation, in conjunction with the ICIJ, finding that ALCL could be more common than previously thought.

I never got expanders put in. I was lucky to learn all of this just in time. Thank goodness I had to have chemo first because that delayed my BMX and I had time to read and learn to decide. For me, it all seemed so rushed and assumed I’d reconstruct. Not one nurse or doctor offered flat as an option. This still makes me mad, even though I loved my surgeon and team.

It’s ridiculous the admin here ignore this. That’s why there are so many sick women. And now ladies will start being tested for ALCL and the numbers will skyrocket. So sad
