Given the fact that you lost your beloved sister to colon cancer, if I were you, I would be as aggressive as possible in treating a recurrence. I hope that your biopsy is negative for cancer.

If you develop cancer in the breast that hasn’t been previously treated for breast cancer, it’s not considered a recurrence. Instead, this is a new cancer or secondary cancer.

It depends on the type of cancer and whether you have any genetic issues or family history. I was all for a double mastectomy when I was first diagnosed, but will be having a lumpectomy as my research showed that I am not likely to have a recurrence in my breast with TNBC. Instead, if there is a recurrence it will likely be in another organ.

I have a Cancer Care shop at the hospital in my area. She has a lot of stylish bras and pads plus an extensive catalog to order swim suits or whatever you need. I had 3 different cancer spots on left breast so a lumpectomy wouldn’t leave much of a breast anyway. Cancer can reoccur either way you choose . The men I’ve talked with say health is more important than anything!
