Nail Fell Off? What Is To Blame??

A MyBCTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have super strong thick nails. But this morning I noticed one pinkie toenail just completely fell off as though I had injured it!!!! Is this a side effect of Letrozole or Zoladex??? I need to figure out what can cause this. Post surgery painkillers/muscle relaxers?

the chemo is very doable-I did so much better on it than I thought. What is the grade of your tumor? ask for the grade.

@A MyBCTeam Member I did the taxotere, (with Carboplatin and Herceptin) 6 rounds scheduled for 3 weeks apart. However, 2 rounds were postponed to give my blood cells and platelets an extra week to get back to a safer number (to avoid additional fatique and higher risk of infections). So, I started the first week of Jan 2019, and finished the chemo infusions in June. It sounds scary, it is scary, BUT nowhere near as bad as you think it will be. You are every bit as strong as the rest of us- you CAN do this! Definitely not fun- but seriously, don't freak yourself out reading about all the side effects- it's just everyone's legal cover their backend procedure to tell you the all the possibles. Think of it as a menu- you go to the restaurant, and everything on the menu is a possible choice for you- but in no way are you going to order everything!! Yes, you will experience some side effects, but the doctors also know which ones are the most common, and there are meds out there to help offset a lot of those. Hugs, just take care of yourself tonight. Tomorrow, when you are rested, not quite in shock, is a good time to start writing your questions down for the oncologist. More Hugs-
