Break From Anastrazole
If you have taken a break did your side affects go away?
@A MyBCTeam Member I took Exemestane for 6 years and I didn't have any problems at all. It was the third one I tried before I found one I didn't have a problem with. Hope that helps!
I’m scheduled for 10 years I have been on it for 6 1/2 years. Taking a 2 week holiday break right now
I have OA in both knees. I started Letrozole Aug '22 - too much joint pain was extreme. Switched to Anastrozole - joint pain in my knees is better, but it has really affected my hands. I've been off it since Dec 01, '22 and there's been very little difference in my hands. Since I heard/read that the side effects aren't reversible, I'm going to wait until my appt with my medical oncologist before deciding whether to try it again, try something different, or skip AIs altogether.
I generally see my side effects go away within a week. I had to break from exemestane & 1 week later the debilitating side effects were a bad memory - but mostly gome.
Had a severe allergic reaction to Femara - same thing 4 days off & much improved. Onco put me back on Femara after a 2 month break & I was (am) fine.
Hoping for your success
Lori
I stopped it for two weeks and it didn’t help all of my joint pain unfortunately so back on it for 3 more years
