Does Cold Caps And Ice Gloves Reduce The Effectiveness Of Chemo Getting To Those Places?

A friend just told me the cold cap and wearing ice gloves reduces the effectiveness of your whole body getting chemo. Now I’m nervous!

It causes vasoconstriction, which lowers the blood flow to the areas being made cold, so Less chemo medication would affect those areas. It would reduce the amount of chemo on your scalp. Breast cancer does not spread to your scalp. I have never heard it lowering the effect of systemic chemo on the body.
If unsure, ask your doc.
Wishing you luck!

Thank you! I’m going to call tomorrow and ask just for peace of mind. My cap is being overnighted so I will receive it tomorrow and don’t start chemo till Thursday. I know I’m letting my nerves get to me. Just gotta let go and Let God handle it all! ❤️❤️
