@A MyBCTeam Member mastectomy recovery can be a bit rough to be honest but you learn to adapt and find resources/tools to help to make it through just like the rest of the treatments we go through. A small price to pay to still be alive is how I like to look at it. The good news is I keep hearing the hysterectomy is a way easier surgery for most people. I will also be getting this soon and so ready to. I have the breast cancer gene and I’m not taking any chances. I was diagnosed with breast cancer for the 2nd time after a 12 year remission in the opposite breast. Was diagnosed was stage 4 because it spread to fluid In my lungs and in my abdomen. This was in March of this year. Currently on cycle 3 of 6 weekly chemo and Keytruda. Had scans yesterday and no evidence of cancer. I have 3 more months of weekly chemo then I will be getting a bi lateral mastectomy and a hysterectomy.
