Seems that we are all living in a cave of disinformation.

Breast cancers forums are the only place that breast cancer survivors get the nitty gritty information.

I can’t believe that in 2018 on the breastcancernow.org in England women were saying that different manufacturers of Letrozole have different side effects.
Plus, someone on there said that someone else listed the different manufacturers of Letrozole and side effects. I could not find this.

All these women in 2018 were being told by… read more

Ok, I'm gonna make a long story as short and consise as possible. And again, these are my experiences, and I'm not trying to give medical advice. That being stated, I'm a warrior, I'm the actual patient that hath been fighting, is in remission, but still dealing with a lot of heck. So I've stated before, that my oncologist and the rest of my team, back in 2021, considered me young to be diagnosed with stage 2b/3a breast cancer, also, I was reminded it felt like every second, VERY AGRESSIVE.. well I think I knew that after the ultrasound found three tumors, and at least two cancer infected axilla nodes, (later the total would be found to be 3). Everything therefore, had to be full on, and I had to take on A LOT, bam..bam..bam, not much breaks in between agressive treatment, to fight agressive cancer. Fast forward to now. Needless to say, I was told by my oncologist, that he recommends I take Letrozole daily for 10 yrs. So right after my mastectomy, as well as full left under arm axilla dissection, whilst trying to heal, I was also constantly studying, at least 8 hrs daily, from REAL patients, and actual fighters of this horrible disease! In the end, I decided the best manufacturer, well lesser of the evils more like, was and still is: ACCORD.. Now that being said, I still suffered so horribly, I had to do every other day, then 70 percent, then 80 percent compliant, and now.. back down to 67%! That comes to two days on, one day off, or; in other words.. 5 days out of 7 weekly, and once a month only 4 days out of 7! I also take grapeseed extract high potency supplement daily! This is just what I've found to work for me, so far, and I shall try to stick with this regimen! I also take 9 daily supplements, and am soon to try to eat 6 dried prunes daily, if my blood glucose doesn't get too out of wack, because off and on, I'm prediabetic, but prunes help increase bone density as well! All any of us can do is study, and do our best, to be our own best advocate! The doctors know, but we know our bodies, and we do our best daily, of course, we want to LIVE! PRAYERS DAILY FOR YOU AND EACH OF US.. and may we all make it to see the actual CURE! AMEN.. HUGS! <333

My Letrozole is Accord brand. I have been on it for about 1.5 months, so it’s the only manufacturer I have tried so far. I definitely have fatigue in the afternoon. I had a few hot flashes the first couple of weeks but they seem to have gone away. I do have some insomnia as a general rule, that seems worse. Some small headaches. Some joint/muscle aches in my back and hip. Some mood swings that could easily be from all my various health challenges I am sad/resentful about, but seem exacerbated. I don’t love it, but so far it’s not intolerable, especially if it’s potentially saving my life.

There is only one manufacture for Femara that is Novartis. UK Ltd
As for the generic letrozole there are 5 manufactures.
AAH Ltd
Accord UK Ltd
Alliance Healthcare Distribution Ltd
Amarox Ltd
Bristol Laboratories Ltd.
Why is there a shortage of letrozole?
Answer: Disruption of the manufacture of the drug.
The ingredients in Femara and the generic letrozole you can do a search of the ingredients in each of them.
You might also maybe get the manufactures patient data sheet on effects etc.
I get a product patient sheet with every bottle of my letrozole and it contains everything from studies done etc.

I was on it for nearly 3 years and had no side effects. I was also on ibrance during that time. They quit working and I have moved on to a couple different drugs. I have no idea who the manufacture was.

I was on that pill for 8 yrs. Unfortunately all these pills have side effects depending upon which one u’re taking. Unfortunately I had to get off that pill cause it wasn’t helping and I graduated to a chemo pill. The cancer came back after 8 yrs. So at least it’s not aggressive.I still take an estrogen inhibitor plus the chemo pill. Anyway I’m ok. I don’t have the pill anymore so I don’t know who’s name was on it. Anyway be well Mary
