Definitely don’t accept that this is as good as it gets! You don’t have to put up with the pain. I couldn’t believe what a difference the lymphatic drainage did, it was incredible and the pain just disappears! I was told it was scar tissue and take pain killers!
You have options and can be empowered to try this technique and learn it for yourselves. It was a game changer for me once I knew about it ♥️♥️♥️

Hi Holli, interestingly I assumed that one of my healthcare team( radiologist oncologist, oncologist and breast surgeon) would’ve recognized or provided some idea but sadly not. They told me the ‘rubbery’ texture and aching was most likely radiation scarring and to take Tylenol. It was one of my work colleagues who used to work in the natural therapy world suggested to see a lymphatic drainage specialist. Apparently surgery can trauma to the lymphatic system that sits just under the surface of the skin. Once the natural circulation is interrupted with trauma the lymph fluid can ‘pool’ in your tissue causing pain and swelling. My LDS was amazing and we worked on creating new pathways for the lymph fluid to move. It then allows the pool to drain. Sometimes I can literally feel it draining. It feels like a rumbling tummy ! I do it in the shower everyday and sometimes again at night. The brain can learn the new pathways and it can do some self draining but I have to do it everyday. There is no cure but at least I can do it myself now. See if you can find a remedial therapist that specializes in lymphatic drainage who can teach you how to do it.
You may not have it but if it is fluid it may help.

I don’t have a mastectomy but a lumpectomy. It wouldn’t be on the same scale as your pain but what I did find out is that exercise can help loosen up the tightness and scar tissue. It helped me heaps and once I had full moment back realized I had lymphedema in the remaining breast tissue that I was told was scarring from surgery and radiation. I went to a lymphatic drainage specialist who taught me how to drain twice a day.. it’s made a huge difference to the ongoing pain( aching and stabbing, cramping pains).
Get professional help like a physiotherapist who can support you with the exercise.
It may not cure but it will give control back to you and it may just help 💕

I hope you are undergoing PT specializing in lymphatic drainage. It will really help a lot with getting your arm mobility back.
