Having My Port Put In Friday Starting My AC Dose Every Other Week For 8 Weeks Then Taxol For 12 Weeks. Any Advice Would Be Helpful❤️
Kathy, I did not have AC but I did have 8 weeks of taxol. Each week about 3 days after treatment, I was tired but not impossibly so. After 2-3 days of being tired, I was up and going again. I could do things that needed to be done around the house and pretty much carry on as normal. Drink lots of water! Rest on the days that you need to rest. Best of everything to you.
Ice packs and Tylenol after the port is placed. The Tylenol did a great job, and I could fall asleep, but I would wake up when it wore off- the ice helped bridge the time until the next dose kicked in! Hugs!
Drink as much water as you can, eat what you can, sleep when you need to, be as active as possible and let your team know if you are struggling.
The “good thing” about chemo is it is predictable. AC was not fun, but doable. I was wiped out day 2-4, but it would get better. I worked 3rd shift as an inpatient nurse, never called in. Attitude is everything! I know you will get through this!
During taxol I’m using ice boots and mittens. Three sets changed every twenty minutes. Seems to be working and am experiencing no neuropathy
I just finished my AC same dosage you had. My husband bought me the Peroxyl mouth wash and chewed the ice chips every time and with that and the mouth wash I had no mouth sores. I just started Taxol yesterday. Not sure on it yet. Good Luck and hugs.
