I Read In My Doctor's Notes That We Would Talk About Survivorship At Next Appointment. First Time I've Heard That Word Used.
I have my survivorship plan and am on AI for 5 years too. It just lets you know what to expect going forward (appts. etc.)
Congratulations!! That means you are nearing the end of active treatment!! More of your life back!! Hugs!
The first cancer after lumpectomy and radiation, I was on tamoxifen for 5 yrs. I got cancer in my other breast and was put on an aromatase inhibitors for 10yrs. It has been close to 5 yrs with 5 more to go if I stay on it. Your doctor will look at your type of cancer and recommend the best treatment. It is not the same for each individual .
@A MyBCTeam Member - Life after treatment - does the treatment include taking anti-hormone pills for 5-10 years or that’s not included in “treatment”?
We are all survivors as long as we are still alive. Don't be concerned about the terminology. It is part of after care.
