" I questioned the fact that all testing has not been completed and maybe I might not require infusions and was hoping I could initially take the oral meds. I was wondering if it was a possibility that once he submits a request for approval, would I be able to select another oncologist after he sends in the request. I got a second opinion but one said it was stage 3 and the other said stage 1 and did not think it looked as they expected to see. They indicated I would be on oral meds to take care of it. The first oncologist said no it would do nothing for TNBC. I really am confused but still have several test to do.

They always do but I don't know why he is talking to you about it. I am sure he doesn't do his own insurance work.

I didn’t know my onco team contacted my insurance for prior approval but they did.
Didn’t know chemo could be this expensive.. thought dealing with the side effects from the chemo was painful...

Because insurance companies are jerks, in my opinion. Earth cycle of chemo this thousands of dollars. Your doctor wants to be sure it will be covered by your insurance. The costs have gone up a lot, but when I started chemo 5 1/2 years ago, it was billed $21,500. per infusion.
