Looking For Advice From Single Mastectomy Women. How Can I Look A Bit More Natural?

I am 5 weeks post surgery. I had a single mastectomy. They gave me a cami with a pocket for a soft puffy insert to give me shape. The problem is while the puffy insert looks good, my remaining breast is much lower (I’m in my 70’s). Until I can get fitted for a better prosthesis and bra what can I do to look a little more “even” when I go out of the house? I don’t much care when I’m home.

I to am just figuring this problem out. I had rt mastectomy. Found a nice padding online. Took padding that was in bra out on left side and had thick padding on rt side seems to be working but yes one will always be lower by a bit. Make sure your bras have pockets for adding/removing pads

Thats what I would do . The old stuffing bra trick with socks and just wear a printed top that won't reveal it so easily.

My mom would stuff a sock to make them both look more even.

1. **Reconstructive Surgery**: This can be done immediately after the mastectomy or delayed until after other treatments. Techniques such as skin-sparing or nipple-sparing mastectomy may allow for a more natural-looking reconstruction.

2. **Prosthetics or Breast Forms**: If you choose not to have reconstruction, wearing a breast prosthesis can help balance your silhouette and give the appearance of a natural breast. These can be worn inside a bra or bathing suit.

3. **Clothing Choices**: Certain styles and cuts can enhance your appearance and make you feel more comfortable and confident.

Each option has its own set of benefits and considerations, so discussing these with your surgeon can help you make a decision that best suits your needs and lifestyle.
