Has Anyone Experienced Fingernails Separating From The Skin
I have even had a change colors I thought they were going to fall off but they didn't, I just don't paint them or put anything on them anymore because of that.
Yes, I had to baby all my fingernails, and I wore bandaids on the loose ones, gauze against the nail- just afraid I would snag on something at work. Then about the time, I figured everything was going well with the fingernails- it started on the toes. Four of my toes turned dark like my fingers had, then I lost the nail on the right big toe, then the left, and then later the right again as it was growing back in. The left one looks good now- the right one is still not sandal ready!
I did not, but a friend of mine did and she lost a lot of her fingernails. My oncologist told me not to have any gel or overlay on my nails because then your fingernails come off a lot easier. I had gel on mine at the time and went right to the salon and had them remove it, and I did not have any trouble.š
I couldn't cut my nails on both of my big toes so I went to a foot doctor and they cleaned out my ingrown toe nails. That helped out a lot.
I Have heard of it happening but it didn't for me. I was told by a friend to use tea tree oil daily and that's what I did. My thumb nails got a bit darker but came right back once chemo was over.
