Karen, are you taking Vitamin D3 with Vitamin K2? Many of us here are high doses with agreement from our doctors. A similar thing happened to me as far as my doctor in regard to bone loss. She knew I was refusing the bone injections and infusions, and I wasn't going to pay the copay for bone dense scan. So she ordered Vitamin D Hydroxy blood test in February 2023 after being on Anastrozole 5 months. Granted, I don't know the condition of my bone before Anastrozole, but my guess is Anastrozole for 5 months is not solely responsible for my bad results. But my doctor knew I wasn't doing the injections and infusions, and she was only prescribing the recommend dose of 600 Vitamin D and that clearly wasn't enough. So two days after the test results, I started 5000 IU of Vit D3 & k2 and told my doctor and she gave me the okay but said depending on the next results I may need to lower the dose. Don't get those infusions for bad permanent side effects are possible. Use common sense, increase your D with K2, get 10-15 min of sunshine a few times a week. Eat Vit D enriched foods a few times a week. This is my result from the Hydroxy test.

Thanks. Grateful I don’t have joint pain. Don’t think I’ll be switching to another ai. Just very upset with oncologist since she never mentioned bone loss as a side effect. I already have major deterioration in all levels of spine. Will no longer be asking her anymore questions. I’m going to go to PCP regarding bone loss and how to prevent it. Aug 1 appt I’ll ask oncologist for percentages of recurrence re taking exemestane for 10 years and stopping taking it all together. Then I’ll decide whether to take ai or not
