CA 15.3 & CA 27.29 are Cancer antigen tests ( blood test) that shows cancer in our bodies. Doctors don't rely on them by themselves but if numbers go up by a lot, a scan would probably be ordered to investigate. I only had these test done twice and the set they were elevated and the second time both numbers increased by 20 points. I have an order in to get them again anytime during the next 2 months.

My onc ordered a PET scan to see if there is anything going on (Mets) and my insurance company who is also my employer denied it and said CT scans are good enough.😑. I had a CT chest, abdomen and pelvis and they were all clear except a very small lung nodule which may be nothing. He said the plan for now is to do nothing ,but he does want me to have another blood test that detects ca dna cells that could be lingering around. It’s called, Signatera. Scheduled for Thursday.
