I have Medicare and a supplemental plan that allows me to go to any doctor , it’s not an HMO or PPO, I also don’t need to get referrals. It has a deductible of $ 2800.00 per year( out of pocket maximum), then it pays 100%.
I had been tempted to go for the Medicare advantage plan when I retired but a lot of doctors around my area do not accept it. I also didn’t want the stress to have to deal with referrals. I remember that from my working days😩 .
I’m in an advantage plan & don’t have any problems at all but if you’re in a smaller community you may have trouble. I live in Phoenix & it works great!

Sue ask your doctors. Not all of them accept advantage plans. My supplement pays deductible every year. Also talk to a broker. I have no idea how brokers can understand our medical insurance, but the one I had when I started Medicare was amazing.
