What Can I Expect When I Start Radiation? Any Side Effects Like Nausea Or Diarrhea? Will I Be Able To Drive Myself To Treatments?
Mary Crosley. Hope you have a good experience with the radiation therapy. Follow the doctors and nurses recommendations. It was stressed to me to not use any lotion or fragrance soap for at a couple of hours before each treatment. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Sending you good vibes. We’ve all managed thru this - you can too!
No nausea or diarrhea. I worked third shift, and would drive myself, after work. For me, I had fatigue, skin was reddened by the end, but intact.
Wishing you well!
Also, the chest wall muscles can be affected later, but it depends on the person. Toward the end of the radiation I was really fatigued so driving was challenging with radiation brain. If you can have someone drive you every once in awhile it takes some of the stress off you and your body. Just be careful as you drive as you are further into your treatment. Also depends on how the drivers are there. Here in Denver we are in the top ten for the worst.
My right breast has developed a small hard ball to the side toward my chest. Still a little numb and a little red. But I did not develop any skin rashes. The lumpectomy was the easy part.
Thank you, that sounds really intense. Mine is going to be daily for 4 weeks. I think.🤔 hopefully the lung problem is treated wirh no further side effects.
