It aids in the absorption of other supplements- which is why it is often added to tumeric/curcumin supplements. BUT depending on dosages it can also enhance the effect of blood thinners, and diabetes meds, so it is not something to be added to your diet without checking with your doctors. In the meantime, since peperine is the main component of black pepper, just put an extra dash in your salads and other foods!

It's used a lot in turmeric supplements for better absorption among others.
