Gina, you sound just like the rest of us. My doctor prescribed Anastrozole August 2023. I got the prescription and didn't start taking it until October. I cussed that drug here every day petrified of taking it. When I swallowed the first pill, I swore the sky was going to fall. I waited for it. Well it was all good until the 5th month, my legs first felt weak with back of upper leg muscle ache, then pain all over both legs on a scale of 5. By the 7th month it went to a 7 and I stopped taking it for a month. Restarted it, now its been 4 months back on. Some leg pain, no weakness, knee joints are okay so I am taking it day by day. But the thing I really want you to know is it has kept my stage 4 cancer from spreading and actually eliminated a node that was positive for a year now. You can take it and if side effects are unbearable, you can try another AI . Some women here have developed their own way of taking it by not taking it every day. These drugs stay in our system so if we don't take them for a day or two, we are still getting some of the drug. So, it doesn't hurt to try it.

My naturopath sent me magnolia extract aka honokiol which has an anti-proliferative effect on hormone positive bc along with turmeric, resveratrol, quercitin and others. I make sure to avoid sugar and carbs to not fuel the cancer. Too many major side effects with conventional AI.

Thank you! They keep pushing and I keep saying no. I hear they make you really sick and other things. I'd love to be in the conversation!

DON'T Sharon. If you have to go to the dentist and have your teeth pulled first, that should tell you. Let me put your name in the discussion here about the bone drugs so you can read the comments. Don't let your doctors manipulate you in taking those drugs.

@A MyBCTeam Member why do you say that? Just curious as my doctor wants me to take them. I haven't yet b/c they have to be approved by my dentist, and she wants me to have a couple of teeth pulled first and I am a chicken 🤣 I'd much rather not put that stuff in my body so if there's another alternative, that would be great!

I am making great progress with Anastrazole, so despite the raging hot flashes and joint pain, I am keeping on with it. I do wish I could find a solution for the join pain though. Now that it's getting cooler, I can see it's worse on cold days, so winter should be fun....LOL!
