Be careful & cautious. These drugs are awful. I refused them from the start. My oncologist gave me a list of 4 things she wanted me on. I agreed on 1 out of 4.

@EllenaReneeERS I personally speak from present experience of aftermath of zometa infusions for my bones. I now suffer from necrosis of my lower jawbone. In otherwords the bone is dead and now I have to have oral surgery by an oral maxifacial surgeon in the hospital. I have a 3 cm piece of cracked ,dead bone that has to be removed and debrised. This has to be done under general anesthesia. I've never had any surgery done under general anesthesia and I am terrified! I've had to wait and finally get cleared by both my doctor and the surgeon. It's been very painful! I just started my new oral chemo 2 weeks ago. I will see my oncologist next week. Depending on my bloodwork numbers will I be able to schedule my surgery. BTW, you can't have any dental work done while on the zometa. It needs to be done before getting it. Also, was told zometa stays in your body for years! So,even though I'm getting this taken care of now, theres the possibility of having another recurrence of necrosis somewhere else in my mouth later on! Zometa saved my bones in my lower spine and pelvis and I am still NED for cancer lesions. My bones were riddled with cancer and super thin at the beginning of my diagnosis 3 years ago. It kept me out of a wheelchair. I had monthly infusions of zometa for over 19 months. Most people get it quarterly or once a year. Like with so many of these treatments there are consequences and side-effects. If I had to do it again, I probably would. It wasn't easy! But I'm still walking around and still have no bone cancer presently. You've got to get your information, facts, and make your decision based on that. It's your decision! Remember that! Will it be worth it in the long run? My mouth can be fixed, my cancer can't. Being stage4 MBC is definitely a challenge I live with every day. I'm just grateful to still be alive today. So I pray for strength every day to continue my fight and live my best life no matter what's thrown my way! I am a warrior for myself as well as for my sisters here.🥊🏹 I'll be keeping you in my prayers my friend. 😊👍🙏🏻❤️

Zometa I had it through my infusions. It is horrible was taken off of it because of upcoming dentistry, I still had problems with teeth extractions.
I hope I never have to have it again.

@A MyBCTeam Member I didnt have a bad bone scan I didnt think. It was a 12% chance of breaking my neck or femur in 20 years. Alot can happen 20 years from now. I can slip on a banana peel and break my nose lol anyways I take vitamin d and calcium daily, and was doing blood work every 3 mo. Not sure how often now. Surgeon not interested in me, see oncologist in 3 mo or 6 mo. Have mri in dec. Hopefully clear scan this time, see reg dr end of mo. We are doing ok. How about you and yours? My kitty is getting big.... Will post new pictures. She is so funny and spoiled.❤️
