Yes, I had the Neulasta auto-inject and it was suggested to take it the night after chemo, and continue taking it for a few days. It did not do anything for me though- my go-to was heat. I bought an electric throw- perfect size for the recliner! I would come home, take my meds, crank up the throw, take a nice long, hot shower, put on some cozy jammies, and jump under the coziness! I would usually wake up when the 2 hour auto shut off happened- when it is time to replace, I am going to get a 4 hour shut off- lol!

Hi Diane, Do you take a Neulasta injection or patch a couple of days after chemotherapy? If so, the Neulasta could be giving you the bone and muscle pain. A recommended therapy for this is to take Claritin (the allergy med) the evening before the Neulasta. I don't know how it works, but it helped me,and is often mentioned in articles. www.breastcancer.org/drugs/neulasta

Hi Diane, I had to travel back to the infusion center to get my Neulasta injection because they had not come up with the auto-inject yet. From what I remember, I would take the Claritin the night before the injection. As Virginia mentioned, it wouldn't hurt to take it for a few days after. I was extremely fortunate in that I never experienced the bone/muscle pain. I hope you will find what works for you. It's a challenge when you aren't feeling good anyway, and then you have these other symptoms come aboard. Please take care!

Yes I do it’s automatic injection after my chemo treatment. Yes Dr did prescribe taking an antihistamine for pain. So your suggestion is to take the antihistamine the night of my chemo treatment?
