After a lumpectomy, you can expect some swelling, tenderness, and possibly a drainage tube. After a lumpectomy, you can expect some swelling, tenderness, and possibly a drainage tube. It's recommended to wear a supportive sports bra or a soft, wire-free bra both day and night to minimize movement and discomfort. Your surgeon will provide specific instructions on wound care, pain management, and signs of infection to watch for. Avoid showers initially and stick to sponge baths until cleared by your doctor. Always follow your healthcare team's advice for the best recovery.

I had three Lumpectomies on the left Breast. Not much pain just tender and sore. Wore a soft front opening bra continuously for about a week. At night when uncomfortable I would unhook it for a couple hrs and rehook. Be careful not to lift and if you need to bend over hold your breasts. I had some fluid retention (seroma) but it is slowly resolving. I only took Tylenol for the first day. None needed afterwards. Good Luck and Blessings to you ❤️

Ditto. Correctly stated. It will help you tremendously to follow those instructions. Sleeping in a bra can be uncomfortable for some but it really helps. Get one that opens in the front. Let us know how you're doing. Hugs
