Had lat flap with implant. Now, all of a sudden I've started having pain/discomfort while wearing a bra.

If there is one spot that is still sensitive, perhaps a lymphedema certified PT could do a massage on that spot which may be scarring or cording.
May help. Call one and ask if they could check.

I had reconstruction in October of 2022. I had to completely forgo underwires because of pain. Found some seamless, supportive bras and they’ve helped tremendously. However, I also mix it up with sports bras. Found if I wear the same style bra too regularly, the aching/pain gets worse. But yes, even a year and a half out from my surgery I still get “zingers”, random tingling, numbness off and on in different areas. Its definitely gotten better with both the seamless bras and switching up the styles, with SUPPORT being key. It has been, without a doubt, a marathon, not a sprint. Hang in there. Hugs.

PRAYERS and HUGS, I had left mastectomy, lymph nodes removed, and NO reconstruction, and even at that, constant discomfort.. I do wear a no wire bra daily, I had to cut it to pieces on surgery side.. once in a blue moon i wear an actual non cut bra. . o and i usually wear a fiber fill prosthetic, once in a great while a sylicone one.. I can empathize with everyone's suffering, I'm sure we all can.. I pray you can find relief .. <3

I had a lumpectomy, nodes removed on my right side and reconstruction surgery on both breast. I also have an allergy to latex and rubber. My scars were very sensitive and I tried all the sports bras. I found one at Walmart and the brand is called “Secret Treasures “. It’s silk and it really helped me a lot. I also feel sexier in them because I don’t have a Uniboob like all the compression bras.
Another helper is Silicone Scar Sheets which requires a Schedule to get used to them. My daughter found these on Amazon. I hope this helps. Even with these it still feels better to let the girls out when I’m home. Feel great soon. Sending hugs to all of you!

Thanks ladies. I've not worn a wire bra since my mastectomy in 2021. Plastic surgeon recommended a specific Bali bra, which I wore practically night and day. Didn't start taking it off at night until a few months ago because they started to bother me. Tried other bras but they bother me too, all in the same spot. I guess I need to experiment until I find something that works. Haven't considered bralettes. Maybe I'll give a few a try.
